Problems with a networked printer!!!!!!!!

Hi all,
Thought I'd change the heading.
I've got a peer to peer network with a Samsung ML-1210 laser printer attached to one pc and shared. O/S is WIN98se for the most part and 4 XP's. When I try to install the printer on any other machine, either as a networked printer or local and then change the path, whilst the printer can be seen and accepted as being on the network, it always comes up as offline and unavailable and says that user intervention is required. If I go to the pc which is attached to the printer, everything is fine. There is another printer on the network and this works fine so I know the network itself is OK. Can anyone give me some pointers please? Thanks for looking at the prob. J

What Port is the printer on?
Did you create your own port?
Check the port number of the printer to make sure it corresponds with the port setting of the printer.

You should be able to get this from a test page.
