I have just recently bought a Toshiba Satelite 4030 CDT laptop of a freeserve auction.
The laptop worked fine for a couple of days but now the screen had gone funny.

Its a 15" screen and the top 2" of the screen goes blue and other funny colours. If you tap the back of the screen gently it soon goes then you wont have any problems for the rest of the day.

Its not all of the screen only the top 2" its as if someone has but a ruler across it and decided to mess around with the top 2"

I took it to mu local computer shop they said i neeed a new screen which could cost up to £600.

Another shop said there could faulty wiring or lose connections.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? Could it be the laptop was damaged in the post.

What can i do help?

With it being bought from an auction I am not 100% sure whether you can get it replaced as faulty goods. I think this would depend on what the auction houses description of the goods are on purchase.

You may have to fork out the £600 for repair or buy a new laptop.

If you cannot get the screen fixed, you could simply get a cheap monitor and hook it into the back !!!
