Problems with the IR port

Recently my IR port has decided to stop responding. Windows tells me otherwise, however I can no longer connect to my phone.

Any ideas?
Cheers

Dave

Not being clever, but try cleaning it.

The port is clean, still no luck. What is it with computers working then all of a sudden something stops!

They like to be cosseted - ignore them for too long and they play up.

Is there another IR source locally - strong light (ha ha), heat, other remote controls being used?

Are you sure it's the pc and not the phone?

update the driver/reinstall driver. is something conflicting with it?

The phone is tip top.

Again, wihout being funny, how do you know that the phone's IR is working?

  jbp1982 16:09 28 Mar 05

lol, kids!!

When it started to play up, I restarted the computer and then it worked. So I think it is the computer and not the phone.

Could be the IR port and not the computer, try it on a different computer.

Check to see if there is a newer driver for your IR port.
