Problems with Direct X

Hello, following a recent re-install of my WIN XP Pro(SP2)I have downloaded Direct X 9,but something's not right with it.
When ruuning DXDIAG,it's showing DirectDraw,Direct3d,and AGP Texture Acceleration boxes as greyed-out.
All of this leads to not being able to run my Halo3 game. The installed DirectX files are showing"no problems".
Has anyone got ideas/suggestions please as to how I can sort this out? Many thanks in advance.

Have you installed drivers for your graphics card?
If not then do it and reinstall Direct X.

It's an onboard card ashdav, driver is shown as vga.dll

Have you run the drivers disk for the machine since the O/S re-install.

Even on board graphics need drivers.

bremner; It's an oldish refurbed machine,so no driver disc unfortunately.

You can normally get them from the web.

Give us make and model of the machine and we can help you find them.
