After recently reformating my hard drive I have problems burning files to CD.

Everything seems to go fine up until It actually starts to burn to the CD. At that point my PC freezes (on and off at 5-10 second intervals)and no further progress is made.

At this point the light on the CD drive just keeps flashing as if its busy. The only way to stop this is by turning my PC off.

Very occasionaly I can still get a CD to burn but this takes many attempts and much frustration.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Life's-good wrote this on another thread:

"have you enabled paging file? If its a memory problem. control panel> system> advanced> performance settings> advanced. What have you got enabled and how much paging file memory have you let your computer have? Worth a try"

although I have no idea what im doing i did this and it now seems to work.

is it conceivable that that was the answer to my problem?
