Ok.Someone has just brought a 160gb drive and wanted to clone the 40gb onto it.Problem is now the drive wont boot with the cloned thing's, yet with a fresh re-install is fine. The board/bios does support the drive's. It is XP Pro.Incase it helps, old drive is a Samsung 40GB 5400RPM new 1 is a seagate Barracuda 160GB 7200Anyone got any idea's?
If you used XXCOPY yes the Master Boot Record will be wrong
PS you need to use Drive Image or something like it
Symantec Ghost...Anyway to solve it at all?
Do not know about Ghost how it does it but DI can make the image work on a different size disc so-long as it's big enough
I thought that was the solution but i couldnt remeber quite what the software was to use!Cheer's mate...Ill leave this open, but i have a feeling that you have helped solve the problem!
