problems with address bar

  bristolgirl 18:03 29 Jun 08

In trying to unsuccessfully fix java, I seem to have developed another problem.

If I put an url into my address bar, for example :- a google search page comes up with its usual suggestions and I have to select it from that page.

Any ideas? Always thankful for this site and the helpful people on it.

Looks like you are putting it in the search bar and not the address bar. Or try putting WWW before it.

It should be, click here Advisor.Co.Uk

Thanks buteman but I am putting the www before it.

Either way doesn't work and I'm afraid that neither of your links work either.

Hope you can help again.

Looks like I got it wrong. If on IE7 you have the address bar.And the search bar on the right hand side of it.You are using the Address bar.And cannot open PCA.That last click here that I sent did it open.If so keep it in your favorites and open it from there. If not a possible Firewall or cookie problem probably.Try with your firewall turned off.

What version of Java are you having problems with.I think the latest is Java6 update6 If using an earlier version.Just delete them in add remove and download the latest here

In IE, Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and tick 'Do not search from the Address bar'.
