Problem with WPA Security

  Demelza 18:50 18 Apr 06

I have 2 desktops an2 2 laptops The desktops are on a wired network to a Netgear DG8346 router The laptops connected wirelessly, 1 Centrino builtin wireless, the other using a Netgeat card WG511T. All worked faultlessly until I tried to enable WPA security Now only 1 laptop can access wirelessly If the second is switched on both lose connection to the wireless network. What have I done wrong?

could it be the centrino built in wireless does not support WPA?

Dont' think so as it will work on its own but the network fall sapart when the other laptop is switched on

Intel adapters with the "Centrino" marketing name all support WPA. It became mandatory for ratification in November 2003.

Re the WG511T: What's the revision number of your example?

Don't know where to find revision number but I have upgraded from Netgear site as my card could not handle WPA in original form
