Problem with a Widows Update

I am running Xp-Sp2 and have found that Belarc Advisor is reporting an update as 'failed verification'. The Windows Update system would appear to regard this update KB914440 as OK and does not offer it as a download.
Have I got a problem and if so how do I uninstall this update and reinstall it.
Cheers.

Hi, you should be able to uninstall it in Control Panel>Add Remove ... if your updates are not listed when the Add/Remove window is Populated, you will need to tick the box Show updates.

Cheers

PS - you can reinstall it from the Microsoft.com update site.

KB914440 was a network diagnosis tool click here I am surprised it would have been a critical update for your system.

You can check what updates have been installed and then remove any by using the Add/Remove Programs function in Control Panel. Make sure that you have Show Updates ticked on the top of the page.

Thanks guys, problem sorted. Hadn't needed the 'show updates' box before!
