When I am in a word document and I press a command e.g print the blue title bar keeps flashing as it does on the taskbar and I have to keep clicking on the title on the taskbar for it to obey any of my commands. How do I stop this please so it responds to whatever I ask straight away?

Thanks

You haven't got the same file (like "normal.dot")open twice have you? Flashing of the title bar is usually when the program is seeking your attention to something.

No, I only have the one document open.

What version of Word? If 2000 or later try Detect and Repair from the Help menu.

Alternatively, the default document template may be corrupt. Do a search for NORMAL.DOT using the option to include hidden files and folders. Rename to ABNORMAL.DOT then try starting Word.
