Problem shutting XP down

When i try to shut down or restart my system, i get a pop up telling me that the system is having a problem with something called 'srng.exe'. The system tries to shut it down automatically, but it says it's not responding, so i have to end the program manually. As soon as i've done that, the shut down or reboot continues.
Is this file part of XP, or is it something to do with the BT software i'm using?

It seems that it might be spyware click here;action=display;threadid=4199. You could try running AdAware click here

That's done the trick. I downloaded AdAware and quarantined all 'srng' files. Thanks all.
