Problem sending emails from Wifi Zones

Hi, I really do hope that someone can help me!

I’m on holiday travelling around Continental Europe, with my family and trusty laptop and I just can’t send emails from some Internet Café’s/Hotel Wifi locations. I can always receive emails and some locations do allow me to send (Best Western hotels for example) but others bring up the message – ‘Sending reported error (0x800x42109) Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) Server. Contact your ISP etc etc’.

I have own domain name and normally use ‘mail.johnsmith.com’ as both the outgoing and incoming mail server and as I said above, this always allows me to receive mail, but not always to send. I’ve tried changing all of the settings under the ‘outgoing server’ tab, such as ‘authentication’ and ‘log on to incoming mail sever before sending mail’, but nothing works.

Does anyone have any idea how I can send email from some of these awkward locations??

Thanks very much

Mikey T
