Problem re-installing Scanner programme

  ambuman1 23:28 08 Mar 05

When trying to re-install software for Epson 1260 scanner, a message shows reading: 16-bit Windows subsystem. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. -- The programme ran perfectly OK before. Any ideas? Help!

It could be a problem with the disk you're trying to use, try giving it a clean or go to the Epson site and download the latest driver for your scanner.

Is this of any help?

Download and run the file XP_fix.exe

This installaton program will reinstall the missing or corrupt Windows XP system files, autoexec.nt and config.nt. The absence or corruption of one or more of these files causes a "16 Bit Subsystem" error.

Hope this helps
