Problem opening xls file via Windows Explorer

and also PowerDesk.

I have monthly timesheets in Excel but everytime I try to open them in Windows Explorer or Powerdesk I get a dialogue window saying

File not found. Look in etc. and the file name listed is always Sep97.

I just tried to open May 2006 but the same window comes up. The strange thing is that behind the dialogue window the file May 2006 is open and if I click on cancel on the dialogue window I am able to use the May 2006 file.

This only happens with my monthly timesheet files. Any other xls file I have opens perfectly by double clicking in either Windows Explorer or PowerDesk?

You must have a link somewhere in the May 2006 file to the Sep97 file.

Thanks Guys. Found some "phantom links".

Had to go through all this year's sheets.

Also had a few "circular ref" errors whilst doing this. Deleted them as they weren't crucial and I can always remake the formula anyway.

Thanks again
