Problem networking printer

I have set up a network of 2 desktops @ 1 laptop. My main PC runs W7 64bit with the other two computers running XP 32bit. File sharing & internet works ok. My problem is with the my Canon MG6150 multifunction printer.

My main PC W7 64bit is conected to my wireless router as is my printer and this works perfectly, unfortunately my wireless laptop cannot "see" the printer, nor can my second desktop which is on an Homeplug.

I've not tried the printer connected directly to my W7 PC as idealy I want to be able to print from the laptop when the Main PC is switched off.

Any help would be appreciated, but please don't get too technical as old age has dulled my brain somewhat

I've had problems networking XP to W7 - have a look at the guide here and see if it helps.

Do you know the IP address of the printer? Can you ping the printer from either XP machine? It could be a firewall problem.

Did you follow this through for each system (additional computers)? MG6150 wireless setup

Answer

Many thanks for all the help. Reading the links you provided, helped in solving my problem.

I mentioned that age had dulled my brain, maybe I should have said, had made me senile :) I'd installed the incorrect drivers on the XP machines
