Hi, do not know how but I have corrupted my music folder, I had it in two places tried to delete one 15GB and now I have multi sub music folders I can not delete any as this comes on screen The folder contains files names that are to long for recycle bin. I can not delete or rename. Also when I look at My Music on close down it places a folder on desktop. I have tried everything I can think of system restore works but does not change Music. Shredding music files window washer with bleach. problem remains any ideas.

Also try turning User File Control OFF first and then Deleting the files, Select all the files hold down CTRL and hit Delete.

Try a system file check Open Command Prompt using right click "Run as administrator" and type sfc /scannow and hit Enter

Also have you checked Windows Media Properties for any changes that may have been made such as Target Location

rawprawn results 1. so far changed file location to new folder on partition, has stopped folder going on desktop when using media player, but it still goes on desktop when starting up. 2. Ran sfc /scannow results found corrupt files unable to fix check cbs log, found log but unable to open. 3. properties in media player grayed out. Thanks for your help.

My Target Location is
"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" /prefetch:1
Try copying that and pasting it in.
