Problem with MS Office 2003 and Norton uninstall

  Jeff W 20:09 27 Jan 06

I have unistalled Norton AV using the Control Panel facility and now I cannot open any Office files Word, Excel or Powerpoint. I get an error message saying 'File filename> is not available and there follows a suggestion that it is being blocked by my AV program or is corrupt.

'Outlook' works OK

Turning off my AV program (AVG) makes no difference and the files it complains of open OK on my laptop.

I've tried running a 'repair' installation on MS Office to no avail.

Any thoughts on what's gone wrong?

Thanks for this but I've decided now that as my computer has accumulated a lot of clutter I am going to re-format and reinstall Win XP which should solve my current problem.
