Problem with MS explorer

Here's a strange one!

Sudden problem with MS explorer.... When I try to create folders or save/copy/move a file I get the following error message in MS explorer. Similarly in Word when saving from there.

"EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 015f:bff9d709.

Just previous to this I'd tried installed MS Front Page. There was an "Illegal Operation" type error while the system shut down after installing. I closed this and the system seemed to continue.

When I tried to run MS Front Page I got an error saying something about a problem with file
Fp4autl.dll.

I've disinstalled MS FPage but this has not solved the problem.

Oh yes ... I keep loosing my background wall paper on my desk to too and the PC saying !ther's a prob with IE explorer, would I like to restore my settings" I have done so a couple of times to no avail.

Any ideas?

This appears to be your FrontPage error click here

However, whilst you provided loads of details you did't mention which version of Word, FrontPage or Windows. There are countless causes of KERNEL32.DLL errors and knowing which versions of software would help to narrow this down.

Sorry! Windows 98 OS. MS WORD 97. Front Page 2000 SR1

Thanks for the lead on the Front Page Error.

You could try ploughing your way through this lot click here

This will bump you to the top of the page anyway.

Thanks VoG. I had a look at this lot yesterday with no joy. I'm thinking about a partial re-installation of Windows 98 - it's just a hassle. Better get backing up and recording my system settings!!

I've had similar probs in past with M$ prog conflicts. It can be very time consuming to troubleshoot. You can reinstall w98 over itself which will probably sort things out - but b/up data just in case. (maybe best to clean uninstall progs 1st).

Yer MichelleC that's what I thought I'll do a reinstall over w98 first and see if that works. Just backing up stuff now - I'll let you know how it goes!!!! >:-0
