Hi all Has anyone had any experience with repairing the above pvr. The unit starts up & attempts to read the hard drive but shuts back down & recycles after a few seconds.when taking the hard drive out to do a diagnostic in a caddy found the data & power conections are none standard (western digital wd500avcs-632dy1) any advice would be appreciated does anyone Know of an adapter for the conections so I can fit it in a caddy. Thanks

it will be either SATA or PATA if older doubt very much if it scusi

is it connect with ribbon cable PATA or thinner sata able?

thanks fruitbat it is a sata drive but with seperate power supply from the circuit board but since posting did find a kit online that will come with seperate plugs & power source. thanks for your response but hope with this kit I should be able to at least be able test & reformat drive.thanks again.

the drive will not be a standard window drive windows will probably not beable to even see it as it will have a linux system format. probably ext2 or ext3.

Provide the machine doesn't store sytem files on the drive the simlest method may be to fit another drive and if the machine see it Ok then format the drive in the machine.
