Problem with Kodak Easy Share system

Last week i updated my Easy Share software.

Since then I have been unable to transfer pictures from the camera through the easyshare camera dock.

I spen hours today talking via chat, with two Kodak assistants, neither of whom could help me find what the problem was, in the end they said I would have to use a different computer.

The software freezes when opening, so I cannot try to transfer pictures from within the software.

When I click the transfer button on the dock, I get a few faint clicks and then nothing further happens.

I thought I had found a solution, inside the memory bay there is a miniature socket. The dock has a usb cable with this type of plug on it. so I plugged the camera in directly to the PC.

When I pressed the transfer button on the dock, the camera comes up in my computer, but when I try to access it, it is empty, and its not empty.

I tried downloading an older version of the easy share software just to see if it would work, but when I tried I got a window come up that said you cannot load an olkder version of the software if you have previously installed a newer version.

Kodak no longer supports my old DX6440 and camera dock.

I would like to be able to view the contents of the cameras memory.

Glad for any help.

Thanks

Richard

Have you tried using a card reader, instead of the dock?.

Card reader?

Hardware that I plug my camera memory into?

If so no. not yet.

Take SD card out and put it in one of this selection. They are usb cardreaders. Plug reader into PC and it will show as another drive in My Computer.link text

The reason that I asked about a card reader, was because I have a Kodak Easy Share DX 3700, that I found that after a few firmware changes it just wouldn't work from the dock. Purchasing a cheap card reader solved the problem, as did my Brother DCP-135C printer that the Kodak camera can plug into via usb cable.

If you decide to try the methods that I have suggested, then check to see that there is the appropriate software or downloading method available.

You can still use the dock for charging the camera batteries.
