Problem installing Vista Service pack 1

Hi all,
My auto windows update keeps telling me it has the Vista Service pack 1 ready to install as an important update but everytime I install it my pc won't restart. I get and error saying that file acpi.sys is missing with the status 0xc0000098. I have to insert my Vista disk and go through the repair option, which works, but no Service pack 1.
Any ideas please?!

Did you turn off your antivirus/antimalware firewall programmes and are you an Administrator?
