Problem installing Office 97

Have been trying to re-install the Office Suite following a 'System Restore'.At the end of the installation process I get a message "Htmlmarq.ocx unable to register itself in the system registry". On clicking 'OK' I'm advised that "Set-up has not been completed". Although 'Microsoft Office' does not appear in the Program List, it is listed in the Program Files in Windows Explorer. It also appears in 'Add/Remove' programs BUT clicking on 'change/remove' brings up "Setup Initialization Error - The setup configuration file 'C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~3\OFFICE\SETUP\OFF97Pro.STF' is missing or corrupted. Try running Setup again from where you originally ran it."
Have tried this (three times!) without success - just get the "Htmlmarq.ocx" message referred to above. Any advice would be much appreciated.
