problem with hyperlinks and Outlook 2007

  cassini1 21:54 27 Jul 09

For some time now, whenever I click on a hyperlink in a received e-mail, I get a message stating that "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your System Administrator"
This is my home pc and I am the administrator, yet I cannot find where to activate this facility. I have to copy and paste to get it.
As I have automatic updates from Microsoft I suspect this has somehow glitched this feature.
Please advise, with my thanks!

I forgot to mention that I have XP Pro and use Firefox.
The solutions you gave apply to Vista and IE. My fault, sorry!

Yes, but you must sort the problem in IE first, then once Outlook is working OK you can select Firefox as your default browser.

Read this carefully and follow instructions for XP:
