folks,

i've just put together a pc for the kids,

athlon 800 Mhz
512 mb ram
3dfx voodoo3 16mb g/card
xp pro installed

when it boots up i get
unmoutable-boot-volume
stop: 0x000000ed (0x81fe1900, 0x00000185, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
i put in a driver for the g/card that supports xp but still getting the same error on boot up. i can start it in safe mode but not quiet sure what to look for to see what the prob is.

My link appears not to work,it should have been the same one as VoG has given you

Hi gourdis. Microsoft sugggest that you may be using an old 40 way ide cable or need to change a BIOS setting.

I have added a space before and after the // to prevent the link being corrupted.

cheers folks i'll give them a go and see what happens, the cable seems the correct one so i'll see what the bios has to say.

sry VoG, Rayuk and Gongoozler, the cable was the 40 wire one, its now changed to udma and the pc boots up fine.

thanks again
