Problem getting into Sounds and Multimedia

  Dazwm 19:32 02 Dec 03

I am trying to get into Sounds and Multimedia via the control panel to make some adjustments but the following keeps appearing:

An error occurred while Windows was working with the Control Panel file C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MMSYS.CPL.

Why is this and how can I solve it?

Try running SFC (Start>Run>(type)SFC>click OK which should find and let you replace the missing or corrupted file.

Otherwise check out your sound hardware etc through Device Manager.

The knowledge base article only applies to Windows 95 if you look closely! As you are trying to get into sounds and multimedia you are either running 98 or ME, which ine is it Dazwm?

My fault the first link :o( i didnt see it was just for 95 , the only other thing i can find is click here which is more for getting into control panel , it still might be relevant.
