problem with Epson Stylus C48 printer

I've borrowed this printer from a friend who is now away on holiday (as my own Canon printer has just packed up).
It came without any documentation, but I've downloaded drivers from the internet and it seems all ready to go ...but I can't get it to print. There are 2 buttons on top, one the on/off, which is showing a steady green; the other I don't know what. When I click "Print" on a document I get an error message - "Printer is not ready, make sure it is turned on and on line". I thought it WAS turned on and on line.
Please can an Epson user point me in the right direction to get this one printing.

Just a silly thought, but have you made the Epson your default printer so that the computer is not still trying to print to the Canon - which of course is not on line now.

good question, but no that's not the cause - it is set as default.

any Epson users out there, please?

Solved it! Uninstalled the driver and downloaded & installed a different one. Now all OK.

How did you install it? With most Epson's it is is important ot connect it in the right order.
