Problem charging my Acer Aspire 5735

Okay so im using my acer aspire laptop for about a year now... and now has developed a problem charging
firstly....it wont actually hold the charger in the little hole on the laptop...

secondly...you have to use ALOT of force to hold the charger in to get it to charge...and even then its difficult to get it to work

thirdly...it drinks the battery

any help?

How can i have broken it, i just use it as normal..plug in the ac adaptor...n use laptop... :(

Happened to 2 older Dell laptops I had. Sometimes people trip over the cable whilst plugged in (especially children!)and it is not just related to laptops - other electronic devices with power socket directly connected to motherboard are affected. Rubbish designs! :-(
