Problem with CD/DVD Writer

When I start up something like WinDVD writer (Medion) I get a message saying that it cannot find an ASPI manager for the writer and thus I cannot write to the device.

The device itself is ok as MusicMatch can write to it ok. I've tried taking out the DVD writer and putting in a CD writer but the problem is the same.

I've used the device manager to remove the devices so that the system can 're-find' them - still the same problem.

The device properties says it's working ok. I've not (knowingly) updated the drivers (and Windows says there are no drivers to roll back to).

I'm runnig Windows XP (home) with the Digital Media pack.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

D S,

Thanks. I've visited both sites and downloaded the various bits.

Some of my apps still won't recognise the writers but as apps like Nero (5.5) and MusicMatch do then I assume that the apps will need to be reinstalled.

Anyway, thanks for you help.
