Problem with AOL not shutting down

I've recently purchased a brand new Dell 8300 pc with Windows XP Pro installed. I installed AOL 8.0 and BT Voyager 100 broadband software. When I try to close AOL after use it hangs up and then says "program not responding" When I close the PC down it then hangs up on the Saving Settings screen. Someone else I know had the same problem with XP Home.

Would be grateful if anyone could help.

Upgrade to AOL 9.0 - may cure it.

I had similar problem with AOL 8.0, Win 98SE, and BT Voyager. It would get as far as the voice saying "Goodbye", but then I had to Ctrl-Alt-Del and End Task to get rid of the AOL sign-on screen. Upgrading to AOL 9.0 has solved the problem.

I have been using AOL 9.0 for some time now and haven't had any problems,if you use the AOL Check Up programme that comes with AOL 9.0 it will find the problem and give you the choice to Fix It.
