Problem accessing e-mail from desktop.

I can download e-mail from my telewest blueyonder account to my laptop OK, but not from my desktop computer? I've double checked the settings, they are exactly the same, yet even after reinstalling WIN XP I have the same problem. Any ideas?

Do you get an error message?

Which e-mail program are you using? - same on both machines?

I use outlook express & netscape 8 on both computers. Both give a message that there is an error, the server has responded.

Sorry, that's Mozilla Thunderbird not Netsacpe.

Outlook Express usually gives an error code like 0x800CCC0D - do you get a code?

IX6 reads... The server responded with an error. Account: 'blueyonder', Server: '', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

Mozilla just says... An error occured with the pop3 mail server. Mail server respnded:

This is normally a username or password error click here

Make sure that your username is set to the one that blueyonder originally gave you, not any alias that you may have set up.

Will try that VoG™
