Printing usernames

  Fateful Shadow 15:39 28 Feb 07

Does anybody know of a piece of software, or a method, whereby any document/picture sent to a printer on a network can have the username of the person who sent the job printed on it (say, as a tiny foot on the bottom of the page) ?

Hope that makes sense =/

This is reliant on the users activating this method. In Word insert a footer, in the Insert Auto Text choose Filename + Path. Once the document has been saved, when the user prints their username should be on the document. You could run a macro and assign shortcut keys for this process.

If the network is run via a server - say W2k or higher - each print job shows up in Event Viewer under System.
