I am running win 98 SE. I have a HP deskjet 1220c. When I use Romanian accent characters in a Word document they appear OK on the screen but they do not print OK. However if I use the HP550c drivers they will print OK but I loose all the extras of the 1220 machine. I have looked on the HP site for updated drivers but cannot see anything to help? Can anyone help me? I am not an expert.

You need to ensure that your printer is operating in graphic mode, that way, what you see on screen is what results on paper. Check the printer control panel for the setting, and adjust accordingly.

Thanks for the response. Have been to the properties but graphic mode is not an option. Any further advice?

Print Truetype fonts as graphics. I am looking at the HP Deskjet 1200C (MS) driver for Windows ME, where this is an option.
