I have 2 PCs connected via DSL router, not networked exactly as i can switch on and use any one whitout turning on the other. Flie and print sharing is disabled. i can print if i disconnect the pc and connect the laptop, i was woundering is there a work around to share the printer only and send a print job to the printer via the router, i don't think so but maybe some bright spark out there will have an idea

Which version of Windows are you running?

How is the printer connected? To a PC or the router?

You could try enabling File and printer sharing but not set any files as shared.
