printers at war

I use a HP Pro printer at my office and I have installed the supplied software on my laptop (besides the office PC), in case I need to print directly from my laptop.
At home I have recently installed a Canon printer. However, I could not complete installation of the software for this printer (despite several attempts) until I had uninstalled the HP software.
How can I get both sets of software to live amicably on my laptop?

I can only think that you might have had a document in a queue on your HP printer. Try installing the HP again and see if it conflicts with the Canon drivers.

Shall try that and report back
