printer sharing

  Haggie 14:07 22 Aug 04

i'm trying to set "sharing" in the printer options. in sharing i select the "shared-as" option, which defaults the printer name to epson. but when i click on " Add " to add permissions i get the message " you cannot view the list of users at this time. please try again later".
now my desktop & laptop can happily file transfer no probs both see each other ok. but i just can't get the printer selected as sharing which is conected to the desktop to allow the laptop to print to it.

any ideas???

On the PC not with a printer connected, you need to add a printer first, not share,& select network printer. On PC with a printer connected, share the printer.
