i am using a HP Laserjet P1005 printer which has been working fine but now my PC is saying it is out of paper but i have loaded some but nothing will print. there is no feed button on the printer so i cannot test to see if it will eat the paper.

anybody have any ideas as to whats going on?

Have you checked to see if there is a paper jam?

This is normally when Paper is not loaded correctly

Presense of paper is usually detected by a microswitch in the feed tray.
See if there's a small button or lever on one side where the paper sits and flick it a few times.
If you can't see it then put some paper in and out and see if that clears it.
Do this with the printer powered off.

I had a similar problem with a Canon Pixma ip4300, found a small piece of paper in the feed roller accessed through the back of the printer. Maybe something similar has happened with your printer.
