Printer and Router conflict?

  onthebog 22:23 04 May 06

A friend has recently went on to BT Broadband. Since doing so his printer has stopped working, with the print spooler service turning itself off.

I know how to get the print spooler back on, but the trouble is it will shut down shortly after being turned on. Will deleting the contents of the PRINTERS folder in System32 cure the problem? I have heard that this can help.

Has anyone else ran into a similar problem? Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

Try uninstalling the printer software then clean up the obsolete redundant registry paths with click here click here

Reboot and reinstall the printer software.

Try these, First remove Printer from Add Remove if it's in their. If not Go to Start\Settings\Printer right click printer and delete, also pull the printer plug out if it's a USB before the above. Now if you are on XP put XP CD in comp, hold shift key untill drive light stops flashing then go to Start\Run type in box

SFC /SCANNOW and press enter to correct corrupt files. Restart computer then plug USB printer in

Sorry for the delay - and thanks for the responses. Turns out the all-in-one Epson Printer was faulty, as a replacements unit cured the problem.

Thanks again folks
