hi i am looking at buying a printer for my laptop can anyone tell me what cable i need i do not have a parallel port on my laptop but most printers specify a paralell port so do i need a usb to paralell cable

Nowadays most printers come with a USB port - that is all you need.

Just be careful where you buy the cable - PCWorld will charge a tenner or more - online you can get it for a pound or so! Even many £1 shops stock them.

I once had a discussion with a Belkin technician - very little difference in usb1 and usb2 cables,except the price. Go for the cheapest, I use the £1.00 or less versions, and they all seem to work just as fine.
