Printer Problems

I have just bought an Epson Stylus C82, and up until today, I had not printed out anything in colour.

However, when going to print out a black & white picture,it came out green! Similar problems occured when trying to print a word document - the grey came out green and red came out yellow

I have updated the printer driver, and looking at the printer maintenance available with the software i.e. nozzle check, none of this seems relevan. Here are the options I have:

* Status Monitor - Auto check for errors
* Nozzle Check - used if gaps appear or printing becomes faint
* Head Cleaning - Used if print quality declines, or the nozzle cehck detects clogged cartridges
* Print head alignment - used if alignment is not right (which it is)
* Ink Cartridge replacement - self-explanitory and the cartridges are new

Kind regards

Nick

Have you tried a test page for all the colours. Start\Settings\Printers\right click on your printer go to properties click print test page if it does not show all the colours check you have cleared all the tape from the top and bottom of Cartridge, also use a pin to clear the holes in the top, if air cannot get in ink cannot get out

I have printed a test page and its definatly the colours which aren't right.

Some are, but the windows flag seen in the start menu turned;

top-left -> red = yellow
top-right -> green = green
bottom-left -> blue = funny shade of blue
bottom-right -> yellow = yellow and other colours

hmmmm

I have run all the desired checks and nozzle cleans etc, and still the colours are not right....??

Is it worth taking it back to PC World?

It may sound simple (and forgive me if you've checked) but have you removed the protective strips from the ink cartridges?

My girlfriend's dad was puzzled as to why his new printer wouldn't print properly and was all set to take it back when I had a look and noticed the small protective film on the print cartridges.

Just a thought.
