Printer problem

My HP 950 has stopped printing. It will print just one symbol instead of text. I have checked cartridges, properties, cable, etc. I am using Office 2000 and Win 2000. Should I re-install the software? Many thanks.

Un-install all your HP software. Goto Settings and remove all ref to the printer either through printers of device manager and reboot your PC.

On re-start your PC should find new hardware. Now when I used to install my HP720c with Win98se I clicked cancel and installed the HP software.

Now I run Win2000 I find the best way to do it is to just use the hardware wizard and install the Win2000 HP drivers.

If you're using a parallel cable, make sure it's plugged really firmly into the computer; if not, you can get garbage.

Ifyou can and aren't - try using a USB connection (must uninstall and re-install drivers for this). I found my HP940 works MUCH better on USB.
