Printer Problem

I have a problem in Excel when I select a different printer. I normally print to an HP843c but also have a HP 1020 laser installed. In the 'print window box' when I try and change from the 843 to the 1020 it takes about 15 seconds to show the change. It does appear related to file sizes i.e. the larger the file size the longer it takes to change printer. Is there a solution?

You might find that you get a quicker response to your question if you follow the advice to describe your problem accurately:

"Please ensure that your thread title accurately describes your subject"

"Printer Problem" could be almost anything.

All I can think of is that Excel is reformatting the entire document for the different printer. It could perhaps be a difference in minimum printer margins — HP inkjets are notorious for having a large bottom margin, whereas most laser printers have smaller minimum margins — typically 0.25" or less.

So the solution might be to increase your document margins to suit the inkjet printer.
