Printer problem

I have an Epson 830 printer. I bought compatible ink cartridges a while ago, the colour on my previous cartridge was run out so i changed that. The black still was half full.
A week ago i changed my black cartridge as it ran out. I printed something on the first day and then when i attempted to print something the following day nothing came out of the black. I have tried head cleaning about 4 times with no changes.

You could try holding the cartridge over a steaming kettle to loosen the ink. Be careful if you do do this, hold the cartridge with a cloth.

The other side of this is the compatible cartridge, the ink inside the cartridge may not be thin enough for your printer. One of the risks you take when purchasing compatible cartridges.
