printer not running

when i go to print then click onto print printer not do anything but as i shut down then open up i get message u still have printer task u want to do now i click ok and it prints no problem this hapend after i moved pc but lok like all leads are ok

Check that your printer settings (in Windows 98se it's Start - Settings - Printers, right click on your printer), there isn't a tick alongside "Pause Printing". If there isn't, then select Properties - Details - Spool settings.
If "Spool print jobs so program finishes printing faster" is selected, change the selection to "Print directly to printer", then see if this helps - it isn't really a cure but is often a useful work-around.

If the above doesn't help, in Spool settings try this -
In the "Spool data" box you should have two options, RAW and EMF. Whichever is selected, change it to the other one.

If none of these helps, try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer drivers.

Printer leads are made of from several strands and can break, try another lead.
