How can I check the new driver is installed?

You really need to get into the Printer properties.

Right click the printer icon and choose Properties then Advanced, on that page you'll find the driver dialogue, click new driver then Have Disk, point at the software you updated it from and if Windows cannot find a better match you've obviously updated it.

It would really help if you let people know which operating system you are using.

I am using XPPro and I have already done what you suggested.
Under driver it just says: Epson stylus etc
Clicking New Driver and sending it to the download (Which is a win2000 file) and it installs everytime.
I am confused - surely somewhere there must be a record of the driver.
