Printer Communication problem

  AC 14:46 31 Jan 03

A problem has developed with my Epson 790.
Up until a couple of days ago, everything worked well. Now every time I print, I get an Epson Status Monitor message 'Communication error'. If I ignore this then the document prints okay.
When checking printer with Epson Status Monitor (for ink levels etc) there is no info displayed.
The printer is running on USB, the PC has XP Home, and all looks ok in the device manager. I have tried a different cable, and swapped USB ports.
Anybody have any ideas on how to clear the comms error?

I have this problem occasionally

It's my power lead, it unseats itself from time to time - my printer's on a trolley under the desk, and it works itself loose.

remove printer software from add/remove then reinstall
