How would I use printable CDs, what I mean is does one need a special printer or what ?

Yes you need a printer with the facility to print CDRs. I've got the Epson R300 but the R200 and the Canon i865[if not other makes/models] will also do this.

Thanks leo49, I`ll have a look around . . .

I use Verbatim CD-R with fast dry printable surface and a Canon I 965 which has a CD holder that you use to put the CD into the printer and of course the software to use it.

Be very careful that you buy inkjet printable discs. There are some that are designed for thermal printers where inkjet printing is unsuitable.
