Print spooler problems

I am having a problem with the print spooler on some of the computers on the network.

It is a school ICT network and the problem is within the design department (nowhere else has this problem).

When a user tries to search for a printer to install, an error message pops up telling them the print spooler has stopped and a printer cannot be installed.

It is a Windows server 2003 print server and Windows XP clients. Like i say this problem only seems to be in the design department??

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thank you

Have you checked that the print spooler service is actually running and set to Auto? start menu/run, type services.msc
