Print server

I have just acquired an "Intel Netport express XL" print server. Although it is "old tech" it is brand new and still in the shrink wrap.
It works with multi protocol networks, TCP/IP, Appletalk etc but it appears the main requirement is "Netware".
As I don't have "Netware" and don't feel inclined to buy it just to run a print server does anyone know of a workaround.
So far I've connected it to a windows 2000/win 98 network and the network can't see it. I took it to a friends office and connected it to they're Win2k/Netware network and it see it and it will work.

Any Ideas??
