I use Excel 1997 and XP. I want to print the row numbers (and column letters) in a spreadsheet. I used to know how to do it with Windows 95, but in XP: how?

Can anyone help please?

File> Page Setup.

Select the Sheet tab and tick Row and Column Headers.

Try File / Page Set up

Then in the Print section there should be a tick for Row/Column headings.

This is how it is in Excel 2002 so hopefully hasn't changed since 97 ;)

Grateful thanks for the information. It worked. Strange how one can look at a particular drop down menu and miss spotting something that is in it!
