print on one Individual sticky label

I have a few peel off individual labels about 10cm x 4cm (not sheets of labels). Is it safe to print on these on my Canon Ink jet printer. I can use Word 2007 or Photoshop CS2 to set up what is to be printed on the label.

Have a look in your Manual for Compatible Media Types, my canon (MP510) has a table that shows paper sizes that can be used and also states:

"For paper to be loaded in the Auto Sheet Feeder, you can also set custom paper sizes manually. Specify custom paper sizes within the following range.

Minimum size: 2.13 x 3.39 inches / 54.0 x 86.0 mm

Maximum size: 8.5 x 23 inches / 215.9 x 584.2 mm "

I should think you could use Word to set the custom page size, or maybe the Envelope or Label setting, don't know if you should use Portrait or Landscape as didn't look that far into it.

Download and install this: Avery. it will integrate with Word and covers virtually all size labels and envelopes. I use it for all my eBay parcels which have different size address and return address labels, depending on the size of the item.

A third way

Set Word processor and printer to suitable paper size and print on to plain paper

Now Sellotape securely the label support sheet to that print out with the label overlaying the print area

Run that paper/label combo through again.
